Project Description
- Remove asbestos from existing buildings
- Demolition of 8 existing manufacturing (millwork) buildings at the Riesen Lumber site
- Extensive site demolition and site clearing
- Construct new reinforced concrete under track pedestrian bridge/tunnel underpass with stairs and elevator to platform level
- Utilize temporary sheeting to construct bridge/tunnel underpass
- Construct new masonry and cast stone station building and retail space
- Construction new parking lot for 475 cars
- Construction new traffic signal system
- Construction new detention basin and storm water management system
- Install concrete filled steel pipe piles for new high level platform
- Construct new high level platforms
- Construct new gauntlet tracks on Track 1 and Track 2
- Build temporary trackwork/bi-pass in order to rebuild existing trackwork
- Reconstruct Track 2 to provide for new center island platform
- Construction new platform canopy and shelters
- Construction new plaza walks and pavers
- Install extensive new signage throughout site, stations building and platform areas
- All new station mechanical and electrical systems
- Construction during active/in-use Conrail/NJ Transit Raritan Valley Rail Line
